John Carroll rallied from a 14-0 deficit but Crescent City scored on a go-ahead fourth-down touchdown pass with 3:18 left and defeated the Rams Friday night 28-23.

Andre Addison ran for three touchdowns and got the go-ahead score on a 61-yard, fourth-and-eight pass from Steve Baker with 3:18 remaining as Crescent City improved to 7-2 overall and 5-1 in District 4-1A, clinching the second-place playoff berth. The Raiders played without head coach Al Wisnoski, who was hospitalized after foot surgery on Wednesday.

The Rams, who took a 23-21 lead on a safety seven seconds into the fourth quarter, are 5-4 and 3-3.

Justin Osking threw third-quarter touchdown passes of 37 and 29 yards to Jonathan Stevens for John Carroll, which hoped to force a Monday tiebreaker for second place with a win.

The Raiders scored on their first two series, getting touchdown runs of 12 and 24 yards from Addison, who finished with 152 yards on 23 carries. John Carroll got on the board with 1:45 left in the half when Greg Burderus swept left for 13 yards and a touchdown, capping a nine-play, 65-yard drive.

The Osking-to-Stevens touchdown hookups in the third quarter sandwiched a 13-yard scoring run by Addison. It was 21-all at the end of the period.

Chris Vallee tackled Crescent City punter John Spence in the end zone after a high snap to give John Carroll its only lead at 23-21 on the first play of the fourth quarter. The Raiders made two defensive stops before going ahead to stay on the Baker-Addison touchdown pass.
