Both teams are better at this stage of the season. Palm Bay knows how to win a close game. Has Dwyer been challenged this year ? Palm Bay will win a close one !!!

dwyer has had one close CLB and that was against an out of state team. they should have won but the refs called back two good touchdowns for no reason at all. it will be a good game but i think dwyer pulls out the win.

I agree with 561, they would be undefeated had the major upset in Ohio. Unfair but they are tough. They deserve to win. My vote is for Dwyer, great team, great coach and hope they win. They will show who they really are and get credit for what they deserved in game 1.

Lets not forget they played in the spring game and Palm Bay was victorious. It will take Dwyers best game to beat them. They better not be over confident.Or the winner will be Palm Bay again.

Your right T33 that was the spring and I want everyony to think about this Dwyer didn't have all their horses playing that spring game, and now both teams are playing for a reason to get to State. You will see a different Dwyer team all over the field. Good luck Panthes

Spring football has long been a an audition period, a chance for young players to make a statement to play varsity, a chance for coaches to evaluate talent and find the right combination of starters, to test and tweak offensive and defensive sets. And yes, teams try to win these games. But judging by Dwyer's play and results since, including the ripoff at the Horseshoe against a national powerhouse, I think Dwyer's body of work speaks to a different conclusion than the one taken away from the spring game. But it will great to watch and we will know for sure by midnight Friday.

A lot of talk by you Dwyer fans about what ya'll didn't have and what you got now..
Kinda sounds like a bunch of excuses...Whatever...Same as Ohio game..Losers always make excuses!! (Yes, you get rooked but that was your fault for letting that happen when you had the game in hand earlier)
I assure you PB had the same issues facing them in the spring game that Dwyer faced..Replacing kids, injuries, etc. Heck, they had a freshman playing C and RB.(who lit you up for 172 yds). They worked hard all summer and the victory as much as the loss to you has inspired them to work even harder!!
We got some transfers too...so what! We'll see what happens tonight!!
Spring was Spring..Don't mean a thing now!! Show some respect, enough with the excuses!!!!
42-17? Really Porter? I guess I can see your point of view when Dwyer plays a schedule with teams which only average 4 wins each...I wouldn't hang my hat on those results!! Also, get your facts straight about our players..Have enough professionalism to get the facts straight...That's alright, we like no respect!! Come out on our field again and chant "Our House". We'll leave no doubt whose the better team again!!

FYI, we have two teams in regional finals(Manatee is playing Bayside about 10 miles from us tonight) and one in a semi(2a). We play hard nosed FB up here and outside of Polk Cty I'd say we're the best non-metro cty for FB in the state...(jmo) This ain't no non-muck school sissyfied bunch of kids..They don't play Polo,Lacrosse and drive their parents Mercedes/Lexus's to school...

This game could have easily been 42-7. Dwyer had a couple dropped passes in the end zone, a touchdown called back for holding, and they were penalized for 160+ yards. Good job but they have to clean up the mistakes and penalties this was a game in which they did "leave doubt". Not their best work but good enough for the win

Is that Oleary in the picture jumping over a kid? If it is someone needs to tell him that hurtling is illegal in high school football.I would hate to see a game winning TD called back because he didn't keep his feet on the ground. Or worse a kid taking a knee to the head causing serous injury.

We've already had a touchdown called back for hurdeling.
The way the rule was explained to us was "When a player leaves the ground with both feet at one time" We were also told anytime he leaves the ground.
Now I don't know if its both or one but I do know this,
we would much rather he jump over a kid than risk taking a shot to the knee and blowing his knee out.
I don't know why Nick should be more concerned about kneeing a defender in the head than the defender is.
That problem is easily solved by the defender making a form tackle and not trying to cut the legs from under him and possibly cause him some permenant damage.
