5 time NBA All-Star and current New York Knick Amar'e Stoudemire, in association with Each 1 Teach 1 ELITE AAU Travel Basketball, announces open tryouts for it's South Florida based 15u & 16u boys teams. E1T1 ELITE teams compete against the top travel teams and players in the nation and are exposed to the highest level of NCAA Division 1 recruiters.
If you have what it takes to compete at the ELITE level, bring your "A" game and register to tryout for these maximum exposure level teams.
There is a fee to tryout. Pre-Register and save. Call for Information
The first of two tryouts will be held Sunday February 20th 2011 from 12-2 PM at Spanish River Christian Church located at 2400 Yamato Rd Boca Raton.
The second tryout will be held Sunday February 27th 2011 Loation TBA

Each 1 Teach 1 is a ligit team and they have made a great name for themselves.. Coach howell seems like a nice guy and he's not trying to steal anybody away or anything like that unlike sfe or 561 select. I just have one question is the team sponsored because im looking to try-out but my parents dont have a lot of breathing room financially and I just wana make my dreams come true

I think you may either be over your head in your expectations or you dont have a firm grip on what you are offering. A company as big as Each 1 Teach 1 - which I have heard of, would have a professional announcement in the Palm Beach Post Sports Section or Sun Sentinel. I use this site to catch up on scores (my son plays for Dwyer).
When I checked out their website yesterday, there is no announcment of this tryout or anything about West Palm Beach/Boca, NOTHING, why ?
I would recommend you getting your ducks in a row young man and figuring this out before you reply to these comments and forums.
I applaud your efforts but you should really have the support of the program before you post the ad, just my advice. There are so many scams and shady programs out there, people like to see brick and mortar type programs. I do believe you are with these E1T1 folks, but werent you coaching girls basketball this past basketball season ? Maxpreps.com has you listed there. What is your involvement, maybe if we knew more about you, you may be more credible. You are not listed on the website.
Just giving you my opinion, I am an old school parent who believes in "Jerry Maguire" type people. If you want me to believe in you and you believe in my son, you should do your homework and have come to a few of the games and met me and asked me to get my son involved in your program. I have been approached by coaches from South Florida Elite, Florida Rams and Wellington, all great programs. WE are waiting until his season is over in the next week or so before WE decide where he will plays.

There is always a parental concern with the well being of their children on the road, especially if they are unable to accompany them. I myself am a parent. My comment about food and shelter were not exhaustive in scope... of course you watch over kids and make sure they are doing the right things on the road. Any self respecting person with a moral compass would see to that.
I am not coaching either of the teams... merely facilitating this end of it. Connecting Palm Beach and Broward kids...
Coach Gray will be coaching the 15u team... check the website and look to see that there is a 15u Broward team.. but no players listed yet. The 16u has not been posted to the site yet but will be up soon.
I did coach a girls travel team last summer with the Wellington Wolves 16u (State Champs) I was an assistant @ Trinity Christian when we won State 2008. I also assisted last summer in Wellington with the boys 15u where my son played.
I am currenty assisting @ Berean Christian (Boys)Since you are @ Dwyer... ask Coach Atkins about the girls coach from the 16u Wellington Travel team. He knows me.. and so does Coleman... both great people that I respect over @ Dwyer.

Why do we do this coaching/mentoring thing. All these new programs looking for born ready players instead of devolping hardworking players. What are we teaching to each one. Here is what we should be teaching respect,sportsmanship, loyalty the sport of basketball is headed in a bad direction, and its not because the players. All we hear about is kids jumping from program to program looking for WHAT??!!! The idea of travel basketball is to keep kids playing at a high level. Nobody wants to deal with all this BS from coaches about what they can do for you and your child. I dont want to sound like a HATER but its getting a little bit out of control we go around chasing these talented young men, who in reality they dont care why they play as long as they are playing. THE PLAYER SHOULD NEVER BE ABOVE THE GAME!!!!! If you think that this will stop at the next level ask JERRY SLOAN what monster we create with theses young men. AAU coaches across the board need to instill some responsibilty in these young men. Not all of them but most need it. Some kids on these programs cant even have the grades to play in high school, but still end up on your aau roster. I hope we dont forget what is important bc if we do it will be a shame. There are 2 teams... a 15U team... and a 16U team..
There are two tryouts.. those that perform well will be invited back for the 2nd tryout at no additional cost. Each team will be made up of players from both counties.@ WOW.. E1T1 is not a new program... merely new to South Florida.

The Each 1 Teach 1 program speaks for itself....
Winning is a habit.. and so is losing! If you play with and against bad competition/players, that's all you'll ever be, though you'll think you're good because you can run circles around little Jimmy from the neighborhood. That's fine if you want to play rec ball... but if you want to play against the best to see where you stack up, it's not happening with the teams that play and stay local and don't travel beyond 3-4 hours from home!
Let's use a little common sense here. A college coach is very busy and has his/her season going on at the same time as the high school season. If they go to a high school game they may see 1-3 players on the floor who can compete at the next level (depending on the school). However there are 200-300 coaches at the AAU Super Shocase because there are many talented players in 1 location at a time where they can evaluate... (and by evaluate I mean top level players versus other top level players). What a college coach wants to know beyond your academic standing (which is paramount) is how does a player fair against high level competition. They don't care if you were tourney MVP of the Jupiter Jam, Wellington March Madness, or the Slam Fest... (no disrespect to any of those tournaments or tourney directors) It is what it is... Have you ever seen the NY Gauchos, Texas Titans, CP3 All Stars, All-Ohio Red or DC Assault show up to one of those tourneys? How many college recruiters are there?
I will end with this... why don't you withold your judgment and see what transpires rather than making a judgment without the facts? You'll have the entire summer to see whether or not this team is ELITE or not!

Mr. Howells original post was deleted however it said that his ELITE tryout was $75 but that the team was sponsored. I was the 1st responder asking why he is charging for a tryout and his response was that all Elite teams charged for tryouts. Wow that is soo not the case Mr. Howell. We all know that you won't have the best players because they play on real sponsored teams. Mr. Howell let me give you a tip. Get the good players on your team first and then you get real sponsors. That is where the big money comes in at. You won't do well trying to take a few kids for $75 here and there. Obviously you are not business minded. Talk to a few of the other travel coaches in the area and maybe that will share how they are making their profit off of the kids. BUT you have to get the kids first. Your working backwards.

Why am i Going to your team where i pay to tryout and what if I dont make it. Thats $75 right out the window! And why would I go to you if its your first year in this? @ Curious.. unlike LeBron, I didn't need to have a 1 hr special to announce I wasn't coaching in Wellington.. or did I? LOL unbelievable! I won several tourney's with the boys there and won USSSA state with the girls there (working with both teams at the same time I might add)
You can simply call Chris Fratalia (President of WTBA) to find out if I left on bad terms if you like (if thats the scope of your inference). I spoke with him last week about returnig this year. I've decided not to. Chris is a great guy and is doing a great job with Wellington travel. I have nothing negative whatsoever to say about Chris Fratalia, or anyone in WTBA. I had a great time there and will in the future help in any way I can.. and Chris knows that. end of story!@ Matt Johnson... I guess my prior statements aren't clear enough so let me break it down for you...

I guess we shouldn't have kids there who cant make their high school team trying out! thereby not throwing "$75 right out the window" as you put it.
Do you think because you pay a fee to tryout it should guarantee you a spot on the team? there are many things you will encounter in life that you will pay a nonrefundable fee. I guess if you go to 5star camp and feel you didn't improve or even make your high school team you should get your money back right? It doesn't work that way in life.if you can't make your high school team it may be better to a.) work on your skills b.) play a lower level of travel c.) play for a rec team d.) attend some camps & clinics for skill building or e.) all of the above

I talked with Jonathan about the tryouts. Though he is interested, he has made a commitment to Baseball. Let me explain. Jonathan played travel Baseball from the age of 6 to 13 traveling throughout the country.. To avoid burnout, we tried Travel Basketball when Wellington,s Coach Ward saw him play in middle school & asked him to tryout. It was perfect timing as we both felt he needed a break (and he did need a break) from year round baseball after 7 years. After a 2+ year break from travel Baseball, I'm happy he has committed to a Baseball travel team. Although he plays High School Football, Basketball, and Baseball, he is going back to Baseball for summer travel ball.
Thank you for all the time you have spent Coaching & teaching my son Basketball in the past, also for being a mentor and setting a good example to him. He enjoyed every minute of the time playing basketball with you and Coach Ward, from the practices, to the MILK HOUSE tournaments, and all the other tournaments we played. We both enjoyed the times past... it was time well spent.

I have coached against you before and know of your accomplishments and based on that background I have every reason to believe this will be a sound and successful program. As a parent of a potential player, however, I have to note that I have not heard of a tryout fee (at least not a nonrefundable one) for youth travel basketball. All a player can do is have confidence in himself. But since he cannot know in advance what other talent you have amassed, he cannot make an informed assessment as to whether spending $75 on a tryout is a wise decision. Even in the case of a young man who starts on varsity at one of our local schools, that does not necessarily mean that he is good enough to make an elite national travel team. Could you please consider eliminating this fee, or make it refundable if you decided that a player does not make the cut, or explain to those of us who are interested why you would not use one of those approaches? Thank you.

E1T1 16u is a overrated team. almost lost to a rag-tag Delray Blazers team. This team has one true scorer (number 5) and a bunch of head-boosted role players who score 2-4 points a game.

The real E1T1 Elite is in Orlando. The closest E1T1 down here that is average is E1T1 Flash. The rest are not good if you want to be on an Elite level of play.
